The reason I chose the current solution we have is that it is a total solution for communication between the residents and our City Departments. It was, at the time, the best fit for an e-Government web solution. And the cost is reasonable for all of the features. Being a 1 person IT Department for the whole city, I did not have the time or resources to develop an in-house solution. There are more options now than there was when I first started this project; CivicPlus, Capterra, Accela, CitizenService, just to name a few. We are currently using E-gov Link.
